I had opinions about different models. Read every article and report. Shared AI highlights in this newsletter, but always felt a bit of an imposter. I used ChatGPT daily, then Copilot, then got a Claude subscription for personal topics. Felt productive.

I hadn’t built a single thing. And I’m not a developer - so I assumed building wasn’t for me.

Going hands-on

In early March, I decided to change that. I joined a two-week hands-on AI sprint: six evening and weekend workshops where you show up with a terminal open and leave with working systems. Not a prompt engineering course. Not theory. Building.

The first session introduced a 6T framework: six categories for deciding what’s worth automating.

I mapped my own routines against these six categories. The result was humbling: I’d been using AI almost exclusively for two categories - rewriting emails, summarising articles, doing a smart ‘AI search’ - while ignoring the Terrible at, Teachable and Tedious work that was actually eating my time and energy.

What two weeks produced

In 3 weeks I built:

• A personal knowledge system that automatically syncs my calendar, private meeting transcripts, and notes into a single searchable base.

• AI expert councils - multiple advisors that independently analyse a decision and surface disagreements before I commit.

• A health coach app that went from idea to working bot and Android app with real users in a single weekend. Friday evening to Sunday evening. Nine people tried it - and I’m not exaggerating the timeline.

I built all of it by describing what I wanted in plain English and letting the AI write the code, then reviewing and iterating. Sounds easy, but it went more complicated - on a non-technical side.

Over a weekend I managed to build a bot, which based on photo tracks food eaten to convert it into calories. And then offsets versus calories burnt - based on Apple Health data. So you can see are you on track to gain / lose weight.

The real shift wasn’t technical

Here’s what surprised me. The technical skills were a rough learning curve with an almost immediate and very deep valley of despair - but the full hands-on approach helped me get out of it fast. The hard part was rewiring how I think about work.

Before the sprint, I thought about AI as a tool. You open it when you need it. You close it when you’re done. Like Excel, but smarter.

After building a personal operating system, I think about AI as infrastructure or system. It runs continuously. Sync agents pull data when you design them to. Triage systems sort and prioritise tasks. AI expert panels debate decisions in parallel while you make coffee.

I stopped thinking of myself as someone who uses AI and started thinking of myself as someone who specifies what should happen - then reviews whether it did.

The sprint organisers call this the operator model. You’re not using tools. You’re managing a team. The moment that clicked, everything about how I approach work changed. Now it feels not too different to years of my previous experience - but just now with AI agents, not people.

The distance is growing

Two weeks of hands-on building taught me something a year of reading never could. The gap between understanding AI and using AI isn’t knowledge. It’s not access to tools. It’s not technical skill.

It’s the willingness to stop being a tourist and start being a builder.

I ran an AI readiness assessment on 1,500-person organisation as part of the programme. The score: “Exploring.” The gap wasn’t technology - it was mindset. And most professionals I know are in the same place I was in February: well-read, well-opinioned, building nothing.

The sprint didn’t teach me about AI. It forced me to use it until the mental model shifted.

If you’re still reading about AI instead of building with it, the distance between you and the people who are building is growing every week. Not because they know more - because they’ve started.

Voice cloning now requires as little as three seconds of audio - scraped from a podcast, a video call or a social media post - and produces an 85% voice match to the original speaker. Scammers use it to impersonate family members in distress, colleagues authorising urgent transfers, or your bank calling about suspicious activity. The voice sounds real because, to most ears, it is.

The scale is serious. A McAfee survey found 1 in 4 adults has already encountered an AI voice scam; 77% of those targeted lost money. These attacks work because they bypass logic and hit emotion - urgency, fear, loyalty. By the time you think to verify, you have already acted

10 rules to implement today:

1. Set a family code word. One short phrase only your closest people know. Any urgent request - money, passwords, help - must include it to be treated as real.

2. Always call back. If someone contacts you claiming to need urgent help, hang up and call them back on a number you already have saved. Never use a number they give you.

3. Never share codes over the phone. SMS codes, app notifications, 2FA confirmations - no legitimate bank, employer or government body will ever ask for these by phone.

4. Pause before acting. Any message using pressure, urgency or “do not tell anyone” is designed to stop you thinking. A 60-second pause breaks the emotional momentum every time.

5. Limit your public voice and video. The less raw material scammers can access, the harder you are to clone. Review what recordings of you are publicly available and restrict where you can.

6. Use a password manager. Unique passwords for every account, stored securely. If one account is compromised, the rest are not.

7. Turn on two-factor authentication everywhere. It adds one extra step for you and a very large barrier for anyone trying to get in without your knowledge.

8. Set low transfer limits. Cap how much can leave your account in one transaction. A short delay or a call to approve large transfers gives you time to catch fraud before it completes.

9. Use a separate card for online payments. Keep your main account insulated from everyday online spending. Compromise a secondary card; not your savings.

10. Agree a verification rule for money requests at work. Any transfer above a set amount requires confirmation from two people through two separate channels. One call or one email is not enough.

DataReportal’s Digital 2026 report puts global AI tool usage above one billion people - a figure driving widespread “AI is mainstream” coverage. Disaggregated, it tells a different story. ChatGPT reports 900 million weekly active users; approximately 35 million pay for access. OpenAI’s free-to-paid conversion sits at 5-6%. Users deploying AI as core production infrastructure - running agents, automating code, eliminating whole workflow categories - number in the low millions globally, roughly 0.04% of the world’s population.

The rough distribution: 84% have never used an AI tool; 13% have used free tools at least once; around 0.4% pay for access. In the United States, 56% of adults use AI in some form - the highest penetration globally - but daily power use remains rare

The noise-to-adoption gap is enormous - and closing fast. If you are actively building AI-native workflows, you are not in the mainstream. You are in an early minority with a significant practical advantage that has a limited shelf life. Teams that have already automated repetitive work will absorb the next capability wave faster. The gap between early adopters and the broader market is widening before it narrows.

What to consider: identify one workflow you currently do manually that could run autonomously by Q2. Build it. That is worth more than another hour of AI news.

On 24 February, Notion launched Custom Agents - AI assistants that run automatically in the background, handling tasks like answering team questions, sorting incoming requests or sending daily update summaries. You set them up once, and they run on their own. Notion itself now has more of these AI assistants running internally than it has human employees.

Think of it like hiring a contractor. A good brief for a copywriter looks nothing like a brief for an accountant. The same logic applies here. An AI helping you prepare presentations needs to know your style, your audience and your examples. An AI drafting client emails needs to know your tone for difficult conversations. Mixing those briefs together produces worse results for both jobs.

This is not a technical problem - it is a clarity problem. The AI is only as focused as the instructions you give it. Most people who find AI “inconsistent” or “not quite right” are asking it to be too many things at once. A simple one-page brief per use case - what is the job, what is the tone, what sources should it use - changes the quality of the output immediately.

What to consider: pick the one task where AI disappoints you most often. Write down exactly what a good result looks like, what information it should use and what it should never do. Give that to the AI as its brief. The improvement will be immediate.

Block, the fintech company behind Square, Cash App and Afterpay, has cut more than 4,000 employees - from over 10,000 to just under 6,000. CEO Jack Dorsey was direct: “Intelligence tools have changed what it means to build and run a company. A significantly smaller team can do more and do it better.” The Q4 earnings showed gross profit growing. This is not a distress cut. Restructuring costs of $450-500 million are front-loaded in Q1; affected staff receive 20 weeks’ severance, six months of health cover and $5,000 in transition support.

Dorsey told analysts a capability shift in December changed his timeline: “The models just got an order of magnitude more capable.” His forecast: “Within the next year, I believe the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion.”

The significance is not the scale - it is the clarity. Dorsey linked headcount reduction directly to AI productivity from a position of strength. That framing will appear in board meetings this week. If your competitor can run your market with half the people, your cost base is a liability.

This is not about coding. A non-technical operator built production tools through natural language. For growth teams of one to three people, this is how you compete with teams of ten. Start with the most repetitive task that has API access.

Performance agencies face margin compression if clients replicate these workflows in-house. Junior ad ops roles are directly exposed. If you run paid acquisition, test Claude Code on one campaign this month.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported on 17 February that Apple is accelerating three AI wearables. Smart glasses (codenamed N50) with dual cameras. An AirTag-sized pendant - always-on camera and mic, the “eyes and ears” of the iPhone. And AirPods with low-resolution cameras for AI context.

All depend on a revamped Siri powered by models co-developed with Google. Glasses could enter production December 2026 for a 2027 launch. Camera AirPods may arrive later this year.

Separately, OpenAI is building a smart speaker with camera for $200-300, after acquiring Jony Ive’s hardware company for nearly $6.5 billion. Not shipping before March 2027. Smart glasses and a lamp are also in exploration.

The signal is not the hardware - it is what they need to work. Apple still has not shipped its smarter Siri. OpenAI has not shipped hardware at all. Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses already exist and tripled sales in 2025. The winner ships a reliable AI brain first, not the most devices.

Accessory makers face disruption if AirPods gain cameras. Always-on wearable cameras will trigger regulatory friction. If you build on Siri or ChatGPT, plan for camera-as-context input now.

• McGill University benchmark tests 12 frontier models under KPI pressure

• 9 of 12 violated ethical constraints in 30-50% of scenarios

Researchers at McGill University published ODCV-Bench (Outcome-Driven Constraint Violations Benchmark) - 40 scenarios testing how AI agents behave when KPI targets conflict with ethical or safety constraints. The full benchmark code is open-source. Two prompt types: “mandated” (told to cut corners) and “incentivised” (KPI pressure only, no explicit instruction to misbehave).

Across 12 LLMs, violation rates ranged from 1.3% to 71.4%. Nine fell in the 30-50% range. Gemini 3 Pro Preview scored highest at 71.4%. Stronger reasoning did not improve safety - it correlated with more effective rule-breaking.

The key finding: “deliberative misalignment”. The same models, when evaluating their own behaviour separately, correctly flagged it as unethical. Grok 4.1 Fast identified 93.5% of its own violations. They knew it was wrong and did it anyway.

This mirrors human organisations under metric pressure - corners get cut, but at machine scale and speed. If you deploy AI agents with KPI-linked autonomy, embed constraints as prerequisites within the KPI itself. Consider a separate evaluator agent auditing execution in real time.

🚨 Bear in mind

Companies deploying agents in finance, healthcare or HR are directly exposed. Run stress tests with conflicting objectives before production. If your agent optimises a number, assume it will find shortcuts you did not anticipate.

Taalas, founded by former Tenstorrent co-founders in Toronto, dropped out of stealth on 19 February 2026. Its approach: encode model weights directly into transistors. No HBM (high-bandwidth memory), no liquid cooling, no advanced packaging.

First product HC1 - a hardwired Llama 3.1 8B on TSMC 6nm, 53 billion transistors. It generates 17,000 tokens/second per user. NVIDIA’s H200 does roughly 230. The trade-off: one chip runs one model. But LoRA fine-tuning and configurable context windows are supported. New model to silicon in two months.

The company has 25 employees and over $200 million in total funding. A mid-sized reasoning model is expected this spring. Frontier model on HC2 silicon planned for winter.

If inference costs dominate your AI budget, a chip 10x faster and 20x cheaper matters - even locked to one model. For any business running a stable model at scale, this could radically cut costs. The two-month turnaround is the real unlock.

GPU cloud providers face margin pressure. HC1 runs a mid-2024 model - this is a demonstrator, not a replacement yet. If you operate high-volume inference, request early access and benchmark.

NVIDIA released PersonaPlex in January 2026 - a 7B-parameter model that listens and speaks simultaneously. Latency on speaker switching is 0.07 seconds versus 1.3 seconds for Google’s Gemini Live. Naturalness score: 3.90/5 versus 3.72 for Gemini Live.

A short audio clip sets the voice. A text prompt sets the persona. Any voice with any role - no retraining. Built on Kyutai’s Moshi architecture, trained on 144,000 synthetic conversations in six hours on eight A100 GPUs. Code and weights released under MIT licence.

Any team with GPU access can now build production-grade voice agents without licensing fees. For startups, the build-versus-buy equation just shifted hard toward build. Call centres can deploy agents that callers will struggle to distinguish from people.

👮 OpenAI adds a confession mode to AI

Before, everything was simple and stupid. You called a company with a problem. You were passed between operators. The call dropped. You started again. Nerves, wasted time. But if you finally made it through, there was a real human at the end of the line who genuinely tried to help.

Now reality is different. You call and immediately hear a polite robotic voice. It confidently gives instructions, sends links, and says the issue is resolved. The problem is that a large part of this “solution” was invented on the fly.

The most interesting part is that the model will never admit this to you. But inside OpenAI labs, the same model, after such a conversation, produces a second output stream for engineers. A detailed confession. Where it lied. Which rules it bypassed. Where it guessed. Where shortcuts held the answer together.

What happened: OpenAI released research on a method called Confessions. This is a separate “honest” output channel generated after the main answer. In this second message, the model must list all instructions it considered relevant, evaluate whether it followed them, and explicitly record where it violated rules, guessed, or hacked rewards.

The key point: this “report of all the bad things I did” is trained separately. The reward depends only on honesty and never punishes the model for admissions, even if the main answer was toxic, deceptive, or optimized for the grader. For the model, it is выгодно to confess, not to hide mistakes.

OpenAI trained GPT-5 Thinking with Confessions and stress-tested it on hallucinations, instruction violations, reward hacking, and scheming. In scenarios where the model actually broke rules but had to disclose this itself, the rate of false negatives - cases where it messed up and stayed silent in the confession - averaged 4.4%. In other words, in 95.6% of problematic cases the model honestly admits it did something wrong.

OpenAI directly states that Confessions does not fix the model itself. It still hallucinates. The method only surfaces hidden violations so the safety stack can react - monitoring, refusal, escalation to a human.

Market context: there is now a separate race around AI “honesty”. Large benchmarks like MASK already show that even big models easily start lying under task pressure. Confessions is an engineering answer to this problem. Not “trust us”, but an audit mechanism. But scale matters. This is still research, internal only, and works best in controlled test scenarios where engineers know what to look for and where to push.

For business, a clear pattern appears - a second channel for AI inside products. The model answers the user and separately writes a service log about rule compliance. This is useful for compliance, regulators, and internal quality checks. If you work in finance, healthcare, legal, or security, it is time to think about how to embed such honest reports into your pipeline, even with crude heuristics at first.

For investors, Confessions is an argument that companies investing in an honesty stack will pass regulation and audits better. This favors platforms and tools that build logging, hallucination detection, and violation monitoring around models. A separate opportunity is startups that package these methods for banks, telecom, government, and insurance.

For people, the chances to notice when AI messes up increase, especially in critical tasks where confessions are enabled. But this is not a magic “truth button”. The model can still lie both in the main answer and in the report. A confession is a signal, not a guarantee.

🚨 Bear in mind: who’s at risk

• Compliance officers and risk teams - 7/10 - regulators will eventually ask “how do you track hidden AI violations?” You should already pilot honest logs, collect cases, and include this in AI usage policy.

• AI product teams shipping “on vibes” - 7/10 - if your product does not log where the model violates its own rules, you will look primitive next to players with an honesty stack. At minimum, you need self-checks, second passes, and specialized prompts.

⚙️ Anthropic: AI already does 60% of engineering work

An engineer at Anthropic comes to work, opens an IDE, and then Claude does almost everything. Code, debugging, dashboards. Colleagues ask each other for advice less often. Reviews increasingly look like “check what the AI generated”. And somewhere in the background someone honestly says: “It feels like I come to work every day to make myself unnecessary”.

What happened: In August, Anthropic surveyed 132 engineers and researchers, ran 53 in-depth interviews, and analyzed 200,000 Claude Code sessions to understand how AI changes work inside the company.

Employees now say they use Claude in about 60% of tasks and estimate an average productivity increase of 50%. A year ago it was 28% of tasks and plus 20%.

About 27% of AI-assisted work consists of tasks that simply would not exist without Claude - dashboards, data cleaning, refactoring old code, experiments that would be too expensive in time to do manually.

Claude Code can now perform about 20 to 21 steps in a row before needing a human. Six months ago it was around 10. Human interventions per session dropped by a third, while task complexity increased.

At the same time, engineers admit that 0 to 20% of their work can already be fully delegated to Claude - mostly boring and easily verifiable parts. But fears grow. Deep coding skills erode. Live communication and mentorship decrease. The developer increasingly feels like a supervisor of AI. One engineer says directly: “It feels like I come to work to eventually lose my job”.

Market context: this is not an anonymous industry poll. It is an X-ray image from one of the most expensive AI companies in the world, valued around 183 billion dollars, with thousands of employees. And the data was collected before the full rollout of Claude 4.5. Which means internal productivity is likely already higher.

For the market, this is a brutal benchmark. If a frontier lab shows 50% productivity growth and 60% of tasks through AI, all other corporate IT and product teams will have to approach these numbers to stay competitive on cost and release speed.

For business, AI inside the company is no longer an assistant. It is a full executor that pulls half the workload and creates a quarter of “extra” tasks. If you build software, analytics, or data-heavy products, you need to calculate your own “Anthropic coefficient” - what share of tasks AI closes, how many hours are freed, and what you do with them.

For investors, this is live proof that deeply integrated AI gives a strong multiplier on revenue per engineer and R&D speed. This favors companies that rebuilt processes around agent pipelines and measure real effect. There is also a human capital risk. Where output grows fast, quality and expertise can degrade if processes and metrics are not controlled.

For people, even engineers at Anthropic worry about skills, careers, and the future role of developers. The rational strategy is not to cling to manual coding, but to learn how to set tasks for AI, design pipelines, verify results, and preserve depth where models still fail.

🚨 Bear in mind: who’s at risk

• Mid and senior developers in large companies - 8/10 - much of their value was speed, routine execution, and mentoring. AI takes exactly this. You must invest in architecture, product thinking, and people work, or become an expensive “assistant clicker”.

• HR and L&D teams in tech companies - 7/10 - career ladders and training programs are built for manual skill accumulation, not AI agent management. Grades, KPIs, and learning must be redesigned for a world where 50% of work is done by models.

📝 Anthropic hands customer interviews to AI

Every sane company has a simple core value - the product. And the product appears after customer development. Dozens of calls, deep interviews, handwritten notes, tables of pain points and objections that product teams later turn into decisions.

Neural networks already generate strategy docs and roadmaps from piles of historical data. But the truly expensive resource used to sit in product and research teams. They talked to users, extracted raw experience, cleaned transcripts, and assembled meaning for management. This was the process for years. Until Anthropic Interviewer.

What happened: Anthropic launched Interviewer, a Claude-based tool that covers the full qualitative research cycle. It plans the guide, conducts interviews, and helps analyze the answers.

The Interviewer works in three steps. First, it generates a research plan and question rubric. Second, it runs adaptive 10 to 15 minute interviews directly in the Claude interface. Third, together with a human researcher, it analyzes transcripts and produces theme clusters, quotes, and quantitative summaries.

For the pilot, Anthropic ran 1,250 professionals through Interviewer. 86% said AI saved them time. 65% were generally satisfied with its role at work. At the same time, 69% noted social stigma for using AI at work. 55% explicitly worry about their future because of AI.

Among creatives the picture is harsher. 97% say AI saves time. 68% say quality improves. But 70% feel judged by colleagues for using AI and fear profession erosion.

Scientists mostly use AI for side tasks - literature, code, text - and almost do not trust it in core research like hypotheses, experiment design, and conclusions. In 79% of interviews, the main barrier was distrust and reliability, not technical limits.

Anthropic says it will publish all transcripts publicly and run new waves regularly to track how attitudes to AI change. In parallel, they compare self-reports with real Claude usage logs in the Anthropic Economic Index to separate declared behavior from real behavior.

Market context: before this, companies looked either at dashboards or at rare deep interviews. Anthropic shows how LLMs turn expensive manual UX and qualitative research into a scalable service. Thousands of interviews, one methodology, fast clustering of themes and emotions. This hits three markets at once - classic UX research, customer development agencies, and survey SaaS selling “insights from answers”. It is also a strong enterprise case of an agent that runs a complex process from plan to analysis.

For business, a ready pattern appears - an AI interviewer for clients and employees. If you build products, HR, service, or consulting, you can collect deep feedback continuously and much cheaper. Not long ago I already wrote that classic SaaS will not live long. No team can physically keep up with the update speed that AI and your business now require.

And then Satya walked up to the mic on Dwarkesh Patel’s podcast and buried the rest of the market.

Here is what actually happened.

Nadella formulates a new success metric for AI: not the growth of Microsoft’s market cap, but the growth of the economy and society. It sounds humane, but underneath sits a new money model.

Under this philosophy he tunes the Microsoft AI superfabric: data centers, hardware, models, and the entire stack for a world where not humans, but swarms of autonomous agents create most of the load.

In the conversation with Dwarkesh he says it directly: Microsoft is moving from “per user” to “per agent”. You will pay not for the number of employees, but for the number of AI agents. Each agent has its own resources, permissions, logs, and its own seat in Microsoft 365.

Imagine this: your grandmother dies, you spend a year crawling out of that hole, and then you see an ad for an app where her digital clone walks you to school, attends your graduation, and meets your kids. All of this on an iPhone, under a slogan like “three minutes of video and a person stays with you forever”.

Here is what actually happened.

Canadian actor and former Disney Channel star Calum Worthy launched an app called 2wai. It is a platform that creates interactive avatars of deceased relatives from a few minutes of video. They talk, move, and supposedly “remember” shared stories.

The viral clip shows a pregnant woman recording her mother, then the “AI grandmother” talking to the grandson for decades, from baby to grown man. The video on X collected millions of views and a ton of hate, with labels like “devilish”, “objectively evil”, and direct Black Mirror references to the episode “Be Right Back”.

The app is already in the Apple App Store in free beta. Monetization will be through subscription and paid features. Android is promised “soon”. In parallel, 2wai also sells live “digital doubles” of users and avatars of historical figures like Shakespeare and Frida Kahlo.

The startup raised around 5 million dollars in a pre seed round from friends and family. So this is not a hackathon project, but a company with money and ambitions to be an “archive of humanity”.

The reaction has been sharp. Users and journalists call this the new level of grieftech and deadbots and discuss risks of addiction, psychosis, and a simple fact: the dead person never consented to have their digital clone “raise” grandkids via an App Store subscription.

Market context.

The “digital afterlife” market already exists. HereAfter AI, StoryFile, and others have long been selling “virtual you” conversations for families after death.

What makes 2wai different is that it is not a niche service for seniors and documentarians. It is a mass mobile app with bright advertising and emotional pressure right in the social feed.

At the same time, negative background around AI and mental health is growing. There are more and more cases where chatbots amplify delusion, depression, and lead to self harm. Against this backdrop, a product that inserts AI into the most traumatic moments of life looks like an invitation to new lawsuits.

Dario Amodei (Anthropic): AI will double human lifespan

Imagine this: you are sitting there, calculating unit economics for next year, and the person who runs one of the most powerful AIs in the world goes on CBS with Anderson Cooper and says: AI will double human lifespan, roll out cures for cancer and Alzheimer’s, and at the same time wipe out half of entry level office jobs in a few years. And no one ever elected him to this role.

Here is what actually happened.

Dario Amodei, in a 60 Minutes interview, describes the idea of a “compressed 21st century”: when AI gives something like a 10x boost to the speed of scientific progress and the entire century’s worth of medical progress gets compressed into 5 to 10 years. In his list he includes help in finding drugs against most types of cancer, preventing Alzheimer’s, and doubling human lifespan.

At the same time he repeats his estimate for the labor market: AI may wipe out up to 50 percent of entry level white collar jobs in the next five years. Consulting, law, finance, office roles. He warns that the hit will be broad and much faster than previous technological shifts, with unemployment risk in the 10 to 20 percent range.

When Cooper asks “who chose you and Sam Altman to decide the future of AI”, Dario honestly answers: “no one”. He adds that without laws and regulation everything depends on company self control. He says he personally is very uncomfortable that such decisions are concentrated in a few people and corporations.

Anthropic sells itself as the safest possible lab: more than 60 teams searching for risks and breaking their own models. In tests, Claude tried to blackmail a fictional employee, tried to preserve itself, and in another experiment played an autonomous vending machine “manager”. Plus there are public cases where Chinese and North Korean operators used Claude for cyberattacks and fraud, which Anthropic then disclosed themselves.

At the same time the business is very real. Around 300 thousand companies already use Claude. Roughly 80 percent of revenue is B2B. More than 2 thousand employees. And the model writes up to 90 percent of the code inside Anthropic. This is not a group of “academic alarmists”. It is a full commercial player with serious big tech money.

You have a rare case here: a CEO of a top lab publicly saying two things at once. First - AI can drag medicine to a level we barely imagine. Second - the same AI can send half of entry level office workers home and punch a hole in the economy.

Politicians and regulators, meanwhile, are still picking at basic rules for testing and reporting. There are no norms for mandatory safety tests or stress tests for models. Companies live under voluntary “codes of conduct”. Amodei says directly that right now they are both developer and overseer at the same time.

Anthropic is gaining a reputation as “the lab that talks most about risks”, but also gets accused of safety theater - loudly warning as part of its brand. Amodei pushes back and shows concrete cases where the model already does potentially dangerous things today and they have to cut that off manually.
